Flight Manufacturing Corp.
Leading Manufacturer of Precision Auger Flighting for Agriculture & Industry
About Our Flighting Products
Our diverse range covers a complete spectrum of auger flighting required in agriculture and industry. Our flighting is produced on machinery developed in-house and is strictly controlled for quality and dimensional accuracy.
We manufacture individual custom sizes as well as annual production quantities. Fast response times, unrivaled service and competitive pricing ensure a strong bond with our customers.
As a member of the Lenham Group of companies, we manufacture high precision edge-wound helicoid flighting and sectional segmental flighting. We are inter-linked with family members Top Flite Corporation & Princeton Flighting Corporation who manufacture continuous helicoid flighting on 14 state-of βthe-art Lenham cold-rolling Mills.
The Lenham group of companies offer product quality, production capacity and total flexibility across the full spectrum in flight manufacturing.

Sectional Auger Flighting
We manufacture sectional flighting by cutting blanks from plate metal and forming into individual one-pitch segments with precise outer diameter, inner diameter and pitch dimensions. We produce flighting in thicknesses ranging from 3/16" to 1" with the flight thickness maintained constant from inner to outer edge. Outer diameters range from 5" up to 72".
Our sectional flighting is formed from various grades of raw material and is available with holes, radius cuts, slots, tooth-cut outer edge, etc., as required.

Edge-Wound Helicoid Flighting
We manufacture highly rigid and wear-resistant edge-wound flighting using a precision cold forming process. We produce this heavy duty flighting from bar stock or coil in thicknesses from 3/16" to 1". This flighting is available with outside diameters that range from 1.5" to 20" and varied lengths to customer specifications.
Our edge-wound flighting provides a smooth surface finish and is formed in a wide range of diameter and pitch dimensions, both left and right handed. We maintain the close tolerances which are essential in both agricultural and industrial applications.
We maintain extremely close tolerances to these flights, typically -.00β/+.0625β Inner diameter and +/- 0.125β Pitch.

Materials
304 Stainless Steel is the most widely used heat resistant steel and is considered to be the most weldable alloy steel. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment, is certified food grade, and found to possess superior corrosion resistance to most chemicals and industrial atmosphere. It is also known for its formability and weldability.
Applications for 304 Stainless Steel include food and beverage, sanitation, fertilizer equipment, and pressure containing.
316 Stainless Steel is known for its exceptional resistance to pitting due to containing molybdenum, an alloy that drastically enhances corrosion resistance. It is also stronger at elevated temperatures than 304 Stainless.
Examples of applications for 316 Stainless Steel are outdoor architectural and landscape, textiles, paper mills and many marine applications.
A-36 Carbon Steel is the one of the most common grade structural steels in use. It is structurally sound and therefore often used in applications such as buildings and bridges as well as lightweight structures and equipment. It has a minmimum yield point of 36ksi and can be securely welded.
Grade 50 Steel possesses a minimum yeild point of 50ksi and is known for its good workability and weldability. It shares the same corrosion resistantance as A-36 carbon steel mentioned above.
AR400 Steel possesses a minimum hardness on the Brinell scale of 360 and a nominal hardness of 400 making it exceptionally sliding and impact abrasion resistant (AR) and therefore a good choice for products intending to handle abrasive materials, such as sand, gravel, and mud.
Applications for AR400 include mining and material handling equipment such as bins, silos, gates, buckets, and hoppers.

Measuring Flighting
Pitch:
Pitch is the distance between each section measured at the outer edge parallel with the shaft.
Outside Diameter (OD):
This is the vertical distance from upper to lower outer edges of the flighting.
Inside Diameter (ID):
This is the hole size in the flight into which the center tube or shaft fits.
Thickness:
This dimension is measured at the shaft at the thickest part of the flight.
Length:
This is the length per piece.
Quantity:
This is the total number of pieces needed.
